Official Selection in the 14th Annual Raindance Film Festival

9/15/06 We are pleased to announce that Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal will World Premiere at the 2006 Raindance Film Festival in London. The documentary will screen on October 3rd at 9:15pm at the CineWorld, Trocadero Centre, Piccadilly, London W1. Director Rick Ernst and Associate Producer, Rat Skates, formerly of Overkill, will both be on hand at the event.

The Raindance Film Festival is the largest independent film festival in the United Kingdom. This year marks the 14th Raindance Film Festival and will take place from September 27th to October 8th 2006. The jury for this year's film festival include, among others, Lou Reed, Dame Judi Dench, Marky Ramone and Dutch photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn.

The festival was established in 1992 and has gone on to feature such successes as Pulp Fiction, The Blair Witch Project, Memento, Oldboy, Steve Balderson's Firecracker End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones and many more.

1/8/06 In the year since the last NEWS update, we have made giant strides
towards completing Get Thrashed. At this point, we are making final tweaks to the 100 minute long film in the hopes that we can start entering Get Thrashed in film festivals worldwide as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can go to myspace.com/getthrashed for more frequent updates and blogs.

In addition, starting February 8th please check www.getthrashed.com on the 8th of every month for new clips, outtakes etc. Thanks to everyone who has e-mailed in support of Get Thrashed. 1 - When will Get Thrashed be completed?
Get Thrashed is currently being edited and will be done in 2006 with an airing on cable television soon after. Details on where & when it can be seen are forthcoming.

2 - Will there be a DVD?
The Get Thrashed DVD should be available sometime in 2006 and will feature over an hour of extra footage that will not be seen when Get Thrashed airs on television.

3- Will Get Thrashed be released internationally?
Absolutely. It should be available at the same time as the U.S DVD is released. We are still working on an international television airing as well but as of right now that is TBD.

3/23/04 We have added some more classic photos to the MEDIA section from the Bay Area's unofficial photographer - Harald O! Harald graciously donated many photos from his personal collection (Thanks Harald!) and we have added aonther great set this time. First we had photos of Metallica @ the Day on the Green Festival in Oakland CA in 1985 & now we have some more Metallica photos from a New Years Eve show in 1985! This show featured Megadeth, Metal Church, Exodus and the headliners Metallica! What a show for the ages! Im not so sure that any show has ever had a better bill than this NYE show!

1/27/04 Filming for the documentary Get Thrashed has been completed and the show is currently being edited. Post production should be completed in late spring-early summer with a TBD air date and location soon after. In the meantime, we'll be adding new clips and photos to the media section every month. On February 9, 2004 we will begin debuting rough cuts, clips, outtakes etc in the MEDIA section at www.GetThrashed.com.

9/20/03 Thanks to the guys in Viscid for bringing back some old school thrash metal .... they are the first unsigned band to be included in Get Thrashed. There are not many new bands out there playing the type of music Viscid plays so props to them.

9/10/03 Death Angel have been added to the lineup for Get Thrashed. Thanks to Don Hill's in NYC and to the Death Angel crew for an incredible show last night. Even more than putting on a great show, the guys were very cool, taking time out for their fans, interviews, pictures etc. Thanks again to Mike (tour mgr) and the entire band!

Thrash memorabilia: if you have, we're still looking. We especially need old photos (preferably that you shot) of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Exodus. We're also looking for fan photos from back in the day ... you hanging out with friends outside the club, in your room, wherever ... just decked out and looking like a thrash fan!

8/29/03 First off, thanks to all of you who responded to our request for thrash memorabilia (see request below). If we did not get back to you, it is simply because we have been flooded with offers by thrash fans so we can only follow up on the fans whose items stand a good chance of being included in the documentary. That said, Thanks to everyone who e-mailed. Second thing is the question of why certain non-thrash bands are included in the show. No one is saying that all the bands we've interviewed are thrash bands. Some of them certainly are, while other bands are not thrash bands ....they are thrash fans who respect, admire and have been influenced by what the old school thrash bands have done. And finally, we are still shooting interviews for the documentary and hope to have several other big names from the scene involved in the piece. Inevitably, we will not be able to interview everyone we'd like to .... but we're trying!!
